Hasselblad announces CFV-39 Digital Back

The new Hasselblad CFV-39 is custom built to match the design and functionality of Hasselblad V cameras and turns every V camera into an easy-to-use digital camera. The back is 39MP and the sensor is two times that of regular DSLRs.

It features two capture modes and new digital lens connection technology for Carl Zeiss lenses that are powered by Mac and Windows-compatible Phocus image processing software. All V camera systems are wirefree, the sensor is 100 percent larger than a full-frame 35mm DSLR camera, ISO range speeds range from 50 to 800 and H camera owners can gain full access to V lens DAC connection by using the CF lens adapter.

Lucky bastard wins Hasselblad camera kit at PhotoKina show

One of the highpoints of the Hasselblad Booth at this year’s Photokina was the H3DII Experience, which gave visitors the opportunity to test-drive a Hasselblad H3DII-31, shooting live models in a unique shooting environment. As an added bonus, all registered visitors to the booth were entered into a drawing to win their own Hasselblad H3DII-31 camera kit. Christoph Weiss, of Germany, has now been announced as the lucky winner of this drawing.

Twenty year old Christoph Weiss stumbled into photography back in 2005 via his girlfriend, who was working as a model. Only a year later, Weiss had his first exhibition, “The world in pictures” (“Die Welt in Bildern”). In September 2007, he was named as a Sony & FotoHEFT “Young Photographer” and in 2008 Weiss began his photographic internship at Otto-Foto Studios in Hamburg. Weiss concentrates on fashion and product photography, but also shoots nature, architecture, and sports photos as well.

Hasselblad announces comprehensive amendments to the Customer Care Program

New Camera Care Plan to provide international coverage to professional photographers, including 24 hour help desk and day-to-day exchange service.

High-end camera manufacturer Hasselblad has announced the launch of an extended warranty and service program designed to cover the needs of professional photographers on an international basis. The new program, which will go under the name Hasselblad Camera Care Plan, will be available to photographers via local Hasselblad partners as of November 21, 2008.

“Hasselblad has long had a reputation of producing the highest quality camera products available on the market,” says Corporate After Sales Manager, Carsten Kronborg, who will head up the new program. “And while we continue to provide the highest quality possible and design our cameras, lenses, and accessories to work reliably for many years to come, in the real world, things do go wrong sometimes – even with a Hasselblad. And when photography is your profession, any equipment down time is potential lost revenue or dissatisfied clients. For this reason, we have developed the Hasselblad Camera Care Plan.”

The Hasselblad Camera Care Plan will provide up to two years of extended warranty coverage on top of the standard factory warranty and the coverage will provide global support, regardless of where the camera was purchased, except in those countries where import regulations do not allow, such as India and Latin America. Two new Hasselblad cameras put the world’s largest sensors into the hands of the pros
Hasselblad’s new H3DII-50 is the first camera on the market to feature Kodak’s 50 megapixel sensor, measuring 36×48mm and twice the physical size of the largest 35mm DSLR sensors. The H3DII-50 provides full 48mm coverage and has been designed to provide an ideal solution for commercial shooters, who demand the highest image resolution, and for any photographer who demands both creative flexibility and ultimate image quality.
